Certified payroll from RUN Powered by ADP: the Payroll Details report and what to add
RUN Powered by ADP has no WH-347 of its own; the marketplace sells one. Its Payroll Details report carries hours, rates and deductions per employee. Here is how to export it, how the columns land on the form, and what you add.

The short answer
RUN Powered by ADP does not print a WH-347. Its Payroll Details report (Reports, then Payroll, then Payroll Details) exports each employee's regular and overtime hours, rate, gross, federal tax, Social Security and Medicare for a pay period, and that is most of page 1. The classification from the wage determination and the fringe columns are added when you import; the marketplace add-ons that produce the form directly cost more per month than most small subs file.
What RUN Powered by ADP gives you
- The Payroll Details report for any pay period: hours by pay code (regular, overtime), rates, earnings, taxes and deductions per employee, exportable to Excel or CSV.
- Multiple pay rates through additional rates or earnings codes, so a person can be paid one rate for one kind of work and another for a second, when the earnings are entered that way.
- An employee file number that makes a fine identifying number for column 1E, since it is not part of the Social Security number.
What the WH-347 still needs
- The wage determination number and classification names. ADP earnings codes are yours to name; the form wants the determination's wording.
- Fringe paid to plans as an hourly credit. ADP knows what it deducted from the worker, not what you contributed per hour for the job.
- Daily hours. The report carries pay-period totals by pay code.
- The Statement of Compliance, apprentice registration, and the payroll number.
The export: Payroll Details report
- Reports, then Payroll, then Payroll Details.
- Choose the pay date for the week you are certifying.
- Export to Excel or CSV from the report's toolbar. A CSV imports directly; an Excel file can be saved as CSV first.
How each column lands on the form
The import matches columns by meaning, so the exact header can vary. It asks about anything it is unsure of before it fills the grid.
| In RUN Powered by ADP | On the certified payroll |
|---|---|
| Employee Name | Matched to the crew by name. |
| File # | Employee ID, kept as the identifying number if the crew record has none. |
| Regular Hours, Overtime Hours | Straight time spread Monday to Friday; overtime as ADP split it. |
| Rate | Column 6A, checked against the determination. |
| Gross Pay | Used to work out whether any fringe was paid as cash. |
| Federal Tax | Column 8, withheld. |
| Social Security, Medicare | Column 8, FICA, added together. |
Rates and classifications
Name an earnings code per classification and pay the determination's rate or more through it. If the report shows one Rate column and two codes for the same person, the import takes the person's rows one at a time; check the trade on each line.
Fringe
Cash in lieu of fringe is an earnings code paid per hour, which raises gross above rate × hours and lets the import offer the difference as the cash fringe. Plan contributions are recorded in CertifiedHours, not read from ADP.
Every week
- Run payroll in RUN as usual, with the workweek ending on the day your contract's payroll week ends.
- Export the Payroll Details report for that pay period as a CSV.
- Open the week in CertifiedHours and choose Import hours from CSV. The columns are matched by meaning; check the two or three it asks about.
- Read the grid once against the export: trades, hours, rates, the fringe line. Fix anything the checks flag.
- File. The WH-347 and the signed Statement of Compliance print, and the prime gets the PDF by email if the job is set to send.
Questions people ask
- Does RUN Powered by ADP produce a WH-347?
- Not on its own. ADP's marketplace lists certified payroll add-ons (Points North is the best known) that read RUN's data and print federal and state forms, priced for contractors who file many payrolls a week. For a sub with one or two federal jobs, exporting the Payroll Details report is the shorter path.
- What do I use for the worker's identifying number?
- The ADP file number. It identifies the person consistently and contains no part of the Social Security number, which is what the regulation wants on the weekly form.
- Our ADP report is by pay code, not by day. Is that a problem?
- The import spreads regular hours Monday to Friday at up to eight a day and you correct the days that differ. If your crew's days vary a lot, keep a weekly timesheet and import that instead; it has the days.
